THERAPIST INTRODUCTION

Gena Rossow, MA, CCC-SLP

Gena is a nationally certified and state licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with extensive experience in pediatric speech, language, feeding and swallowing treatment.  Gena holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and has further education in Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants (SOFFI method), the impact of tethered oral tissues on pediatric feeding/swallowing, myofascial release related to voice and swallowing disorders, as well as 14 years of medical speech, language and swallowing experience. Gena's pediatric background includes work within the public schools, early intervention (infant/toddler program), outpatient autism treatment clinic, outpatient speech/language/feeding clinic and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) settings. Gena believes all children can thrive when given the support and tools to enjoy positive and safe feeding experiences. She is particularly passionate about supporting children with significant medial complexity, alternative feeding needs, and/or NICU graduates to achieve safe oral feeding outside of the controlled environment of the hospital. Gena also enjoys spending time cooking with her husband, going on adventures with her four young children, playing tennis and cheering on our local Kansas City sports teams.
